Speechless
Little did we know it, but today would be the day our lives would change forever. Normal morning...except for the fact that I was on bedrest and hadn't left the house other than for doctors appointments (and maybe one clandestine trip to the Target baby section) for two weeks! Yikes...maybe not so normal?!?! My OB, Dr. Jaffee, was back in town after taking off to Park City, UT for a weeks worth of skiing.
It was a typical morning. From my vantage point on the big brown leather chair, the command center you might call it, I saw Tom off to the office. I was enjoying a tiny cup of coffee and was surfing on my laptop. "The Boys", Figaro and Enzo, were curled up with me...keeping me snuggly warm. It was weigh in day...and I was 35 weeks and 3 days pregnant, but who's counting? I nibbled on some grapes and an apple. I managed to sneak a few minutes to dig through my closet to find the lightest clothing possible since I had to get on the scale.
My appointment was at 10:30 A.M. By 11 o'clock we learned that today would be the day that a beautiful baby girl would enter our world and forever change our lives. We were truly blessed with the most wonderful gift. Our daughter, Chloe Rose, arrived at 10:39 P.M, weighing 5 pounds and 9 ounces, and measuring 16 3/4 inches in length. We were speechless...she was so gorgeous.
