Our neighbor friends, Courtney & Wade, are expecting a baby boy on October 8th. In just a few short weeks they will be experiencing the joys of parenthood! John Owen Whistler, who will go by Owen, will be the new baby on our block.
Seven of Courtney's friends and myself threw a couples baby shower in honor of 'lil O. Courtney's friend Mary hosted the party at her condo in uptown. As you can tell, I definitely spent more time "inside the loop" this weekend than I have in quite awhile! Mary came up with the idea of calling the party the BOB...short for Baby Owen's BBQ. A few of the boys manned the grill and of course made Ka-BOBS which were delicious. I have to include a picture of the cake...because I am a cake connoisseur (a nice way of saying Cake Snob). This delight was from Panini Bakery. It was delish!
Tom and I had a great time reconnecting with some of Courtney & Wade's friends that we've met before. We also had a chance to meet quite a few new faces too. Our baby girl was a rock star and snoozed upstairs in one of the guest rooms. This was the first time we tried that arrangement and it was a total success. We got to enjoy the party which was really a great time. Congratulations Courtney and Wade. We couldn't be more happy for the two...soon to be three of you!

Thank you sooo much for our WONDERFUL shower! The cake was so yummy- sorry you and Tom didn't get any leftovers... We had such a great time and can't wait for Owen to get here so he can join in on all the fun!
