Mohawk Is Better Than No-Hawk
I am laughing as I'm writing this post. Many, many moons ago at one of our first playdates....we went to Babies & Books. While I was waiting for my girlfriends and their babies to arrive, I was chatting with another mom that was carrying a little girl around 8 months old. Not that it matters...but the mom was really cute and seemed to have it together. But, I just couldn't get over one litte thing. Her little girl had a very interesting hair-doo. She had a baby mohawk. Yes, that's right...a little girl had a mohawk. I mean, she was cute and stuff...but Angelina's child she was not. I thought to myself, how sad to have a little girl 8 months old and not be able to use a bow or even a little barrette. A mohawk. On a little girl. Seriously???
Well, over the past few months, I have experienced many epiphanies and realizations. I have come to understand and perhaps even accept that I must be patient. Good things do come to those who wait (Chloe is a perfect example of this). I now understand that some things just take a little time. Like hair. Yes...like hair.
Chloe is quickly approaching the 8 month mark. Looking back and reflecting on my first playdate at Babies and Books...I think she even have less hair than the little girl with the mohawk. It doesn't matter...it will come. It will be beautiful and we'll be knee deep in bows, barrettes, and all sorts of hair accessories.
But for now...I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be happy that my little girl had enough hair to brush upwards vertically into a style? I guess I surprise myself each day! We won't be sporting this style in public anytime soon...but I had to share!
