Let Them Eat Cake!

Our sweet little girl celebrated her 1st birthday today with a Polka Dots & Poodles Party. We had a small gathering at our house with a few close friends to help us celebrate. We had hoped to keep it small so it wouldn't be too overwhelming for her (or us)!

The party started at 12 noon. We had an assortment of Palio's Pizza, CFA nuggets, citrus tossed salad (a great recipe that my friend and sorority sister Erin shared with me), Antipasto Pasta Salad (aka Pupperoni Pasta Salad), Pink Poodle Punch, Sugar Cookies, and of course my favorite menu item...CAKE (Banana Buttermilk with English Butter Cream and Chocolate Fudge with Peanut Butter Cream.

My favorite picture. She was in heaven. Chloe had a fantastic day! She enjoyed all the attention and had fun playing with her friends. The best part was watching her devour her cake. SHE LOVED IT! I don't think I've seen anything quite so cute in my entire life, but of course...I'm only a tad bit biased. She might have even finished it had we let her. She worked on it probably for a good 30 minutes. The only time she wasn't happy during her party was when we took away her cake! I'm pretty sure she might have finished it had we let her...

After the sugar rush, we helped Chloe open gifts. If it wasn't noticeable that we needed a playroom before her birthday, it definitely is now. Our fireplace now looks like Pee Wee's Playhouse...but Chloe is having a blast with her books, buckets, gardening toys, baby dolls, musical instruments, and tea set!
